What is Ecocriticism? How is it significant in modern times? - Gaurav_Singh - 05-30-2019

My question is very clear. What is Ecocriticism? This theory emerged late, much late than many other theories in literature. However, is it that significant today? What do you think?

Ecocriticism is a literary theory, as the name suggests, that advocates of the participation of Ecology in literary texts. In simple terms, we can say that the literary theory that tries to locate and bring out the ecological appearances in a literary text is called Ecocriticism. You can find more in books. There are many figures associated with this theory and major are Cheryll Glotfelty and Jonathan Bate. This is a late movement.
